Just got back from Southern Seller Fest which what was undoubtedly the most amazing Amazon event I’ve ever been to, not just here in Australia, but in the world.

It was an absolute credit to Michael and Jamie who pulled off an incredible event jammed packed with amazing speakers with incredible content. A really big thanks to them both.

One of the big announcements they made during the event was the official launch of their new supply chain management software www.SKUdrop.com – this will be a total game changer for Amazon sellers exporting from China to the USA. Instead of shipping all your goods to Amazon directly or to a 3PL in the USA, you ship your goods after production to one of their Chinese warehouses and generate small-medium daily, weekly or monthly Amazon shipping plans for just-in-time inventory replenishment. They gave us a live demo while they were on stage, including a live cross to one of the warehouse teams in China. This is going to save sellers $1000’s of dollars per year. Looking forward to having Jamie on the podcast in the coming months to talk you through.

While I was there, I whipped out the microphone and had an impromptu chat with Meghla, Tim and Marg. Had an awesome chat today with Julian Fishman from my hometown, Melbourne Australia. Julian and his business partner Shane have several huge Amazon businesses doing mid-7 figures per year, as well as consulting to 8-figure Amazon businesses.

He started his career in banking, before starting a bike shop in inner-city Melbourne called Velo-Cycles (if you live in Melbourne, you’ll know they’re one of the city’s largest). He sold that business and headed to Silcon Valley, getting involved in a software startup.

From there he learned about Amazon, saw a product being spruiked on Social media and decided to give it a try. In month one he’d sold over $120K worth of product and was off to the Amazon races.

Today we talk about what it takes to build a 7 figure Amazon business for an exit.

This week’s episode is a fun one. Cory Stout’s story is amazing. He’s gone from selling watches on Groupon – he sold 7,000 watches in 1 day – but what should have been cause for celebration, in fact had disastrous consequences … He’s now running the biggest wood-frame sunglasses brand on Amazon.

He has a very small team comprising, himself, his mum and a VA, Dora in the Philippines and together they turn over about $3 million per year on Amazon with a very profitable range of products.
