TAS 066 : Neil Asher: How to set up on Amazon India, Youtube Traffic to your Amazon Listings & more

By Chris on July 13, 2019

Neil Asher from Aussie Online Entrepreneurs joins me this week! I had another issue with sound quality this week so not quite up to the standard you’re used to, sorry!

We chat about how he got started selling on Amazon, failed in his first attempt but he dusted himself off and has now created a multimillion-dollar Amazon empire, spanning all Amazon’s English speaking marketplaces, Amazon USA, Canada, Australia and India

So we talk about what it takes to set up on Amazon India, how he was able to set himself up there and how’s the Indian Marketplace has worked for him.

He also talks about how he drives super-cheap traffic from YouTube to his Amazon listings.

Of course, we also chat about Amazon Australia.

I showed how one Amazon seller has built a simple store selling ‘drawer knobs’ with sales over $27,000 USD per month. ‘Drawer knobs and handles’ are just one example of many 1,000’s of profitable and unique products you can source from India.

TAS 064 : Marg Jolly – discusses her Amazon Journey to $100,000 profit per year sourcing from India

By Chris on June 27, 2019

On today’s show please make welcome Marg Jolly, a great friend of mine who sells on Amazon and lives in Geelong!

Today’s Marg shares her story about how she got started through Adam Hudson’s Reliable Education course. Sadly, her first product she sourced from China didn’t work out so great – and she quickly realised that in order to go to the next level needed to seriously immerse herself in Facebook Groups, Masterminds, and meeting other local Amazon sellers.

Courses are a great way to start, but often masterminding, networking and 1-1 coaching can be super effective to help you reach your goals.

Marg now sources from India, via a supplier she met in Hong Kong on her way to the Canton fair!

Since that serendipitous crossing of paths to find her new Indian supplier, she and her partner Kevin are getting very close to their goal of making $100,000 in profit (not revenue) per year.

We also touch on Amazon’s Transparency program, part of Project Zero – Amazon’s program to stamp out counterfeiting on their platform.

I love Marg’s story because it’s real. Selling products on Amazon is often a grind, requiring persistence and tenacity and isn’t an ‘easy path to riches’ as some might have you believe!

How to negotiate price, payment terms, order volumes

TAS 063 : Launching Products on Amazon using PPC with Tim Jordan – Part 2

By Chris on June 19, 2019

On today’s show we welcome back to the show, Tim Jordan from Private Label Legion for Part 2 of our 2-part deep dive into Product research and Product launching.

On today’s show we cover a lot.

Tim’s a big fan of launching with Amazon Sponsored Ads so we dive deeply into that. We also talk about product reviews and the best way to get them!

We chat about other marketplaces outside of Amazon, and whether they’re worth pursuing.

Tim likes to test things out first before getting too far ahead with Brands and Trademarks and shopify sites and all that advanced stuff, but if a line of products takes off, he’s all in.

Finally Tim talks about the ‘end game’ experience of selling an Amazon business and how he was able to exit with a large 6 figure payday from his first Amazon business.

Private Coaching? If you’d like to book a time to chat with me privately and confidentially about your Amazon Business either strategically or product ideas, shoot me a message to learn more at Chris@christhomas.com.au  or book me directly for an hour at www.theaustralianseller.com/chris –

Tomorrow night (that’s the 20th June 2019 – apologies if you’re listening to this episode in the future!) I’ll be hosting an India Sourcing info webinar with a previous guest to the show Meghla Bhardwaj, so to Join the Webinar, visit theaustralianseller.com/india

you should join me there in October for a week’s sourcing trip at the Delhi Fair – the dates are between Oct 14th and 20th – 5 Star hotels, meals provided, 3,000 exhibitors…

Amazon Launches Sponsored Advertising (PPC) to Amazon Australia

By Chris on June 15, 2019

Last week (June 2019) Amazon Australia finally launched sponsored Advertising for 3rd Party Sellers within Seller Central.

I started running some ads straight away and the results are pretty crazy!

More on that in a minute…

In my experience, whenever there’s a new paid advertising platform or service it’s a great idea to jump on board early as click costs are usually very cheap.

Right now, Amazon Australia’s sponsored PPC advertising is no exception.

I’ve been seeing clicks of just $0.02c (AUD) per click, making Amazon PPC the cheapest form of targeting advertising in Australia right now.

Launching products on Amazon Australia

When I launch products on other Amazon marketplaces such as the United States, or UK, PPC is always part of the launch plan (and even the pre-launch plan).

Up until now, it’s been very difficult to launch and rank products on Amazon Australia as there has been no way to promote your products on the platform.

Now with PPC, you can sponsor your products to the top of the search results for pennies, getting visibility, traffic and sales for your products.

The best part is that unlike Google AdWords, Clicks and Sales generated through your sponsored Ads on Amazon help you RANK for keywords on Amazon.

Yes, on Amazon PPC and SEO are intertwined.

Now’s the time to start advertising on Amazon Australia.

If you need help, get in touch – I can help you get set up and maximise the opportunity Sponsored Advertising on Amazon Australia represents to your business on one of Amazon’s newest Marketplaces.

TAS 062 : Start your product research OFF AMAZON! Tim Jordan from Private Label Legion explains.

By Chris on June 13, 2019

On today’s show we welcome Tim Jordan from Private Label Legion. I was introduced to Tim by Calli from Private Label Australia a few weeks ago at the Retail Global event and spent some time with him discussing his philosophy around product research and development.

Tim is a huge believer in starting your product research journey off Amazon, not on it, as most people do. Think Pinterest, Etsy, Life Hack blogs, trend watching sites, Instagram, Kickstarter – the list goes on…
