The 4 Crucial Steps to Transfer/Sell your Amazon Account to a new owner. Jason Lee – The FBA Flipper – TAS 107

By Chris on April 13, 2021

Welcome back to the show, great to have your company.

This week’s guest is Jason Lee from https://www.thefbaflipper.com.

Jason’s firm (or brokerage) helps people and businesses who want to buy China-based FBA businesses. FBAFlipper is the ONLY broker who knows the Western FBA space, the Chinese FBA Space and M&A. Jason has looked at over 400 ecommerce businesses for sale and he also sells on Amazon himself, so he’s right across the space.

We go in depth on

  • The 4 crucial steps you need to take to sell and transfer your own FBA business without a broker (who’ll charge as high as 15% of the deal size to help you get this simple process done)
  • The differences between Chinese and Western buyers and sellers as well as the way many Chinese FBA buyers run their FBA businesses.
  • How it’s absolutely vital that you know your numbers. Cashflow is one thing, but understanding your net profit is crucial in order to value your FBA business properly.

We cover lots lots more, so if you’re thinking about selling your business, or buying one, this is a must listen episode.

TAS 106 – Amazon Australia, eBay, Catch & Kogan, post-pandemic with Phil Leahy, CEO Retail Global

By Chris on March 19, 2021

In today’s episode please make welcome back to the show Phil Leahy – the CEO of Retail Global. Phil and I last chatted on the show back in 2019 about Australia’s Big 4 Marketplaces, eBay, Amazon, Catch and Kogan.

We chat today about the effect that the pandemic had on ecommerce here in Australia both for marketplaces and pure-play ecommerce retailers like Lovehoney. Turns out that sex and booze did very well online in 2020… Of course we also talk about the ways in which retailers pivoted fast into ecommerce to stay alive, and the seemingly entrenched impact it’s had on the way Australian’s shop now…

Finally we talk about the upcoming RG event on the 29-31st of March 2021 which I’ll be speaking at, holding the “How to grow your brand on Amazon Australia workshop” with Regina Peterburgsky (Women on Amazon) and Calli (private Label Australia).

Later I’ll be on the “How to Grow and expand your amazon business by opening up on additional Amazon marketplaces” – Panel, as well as a solo session on “How to optimise your Amazon Listings for ranking and conversion success…” Throw in a couple of sessions for inside the injection Labs (feel free to book me)… It’s going to be a busy 3 days…!

TAS 105 – Amazon Europe, crushing it with International Wholesale with Mike Thomas

By Chris on February 14, 2021

In a bald-faced dose of nepotism, today’s guest is none-other than my very own brother Mike. It didn’t take long for us to forget we were recording and spill the beans on the products he and I sell and partner on in Europe.

We go in depth on

  • Our ‘entrepreneurial’ journey working together as siblings
  • what it takes to sell in a post-brexit Amazon Europe,
  • our issues with mislabeled inventory that cost us $1,000’s to fix
  • Covid, and how it was responsible for a single 16,000 Euro order last year,
  • How we are successfully using an international wholesale strategy which is generating 30 sales per day, and how you can get involved.
  • How we worked to get Brand Registry for someone else’s USA product we’re selling in the UK and how that doubled sales over-night.
  • Our plans for Amazon marketplace expansion, Australia, Singapore, USA (and maybe India)
  • Getting paid effectively using Payoneer with so many currencies pouring into the bank account and
  • How Mike has been able to ditch his highly stressful corporate career, and is now running his Amazon (and his other side-business) and has never looked back…

Don’t forget I am offering private coaching again this year so please head over to www.theaustralianseller.com/chris to book an hour session with me to make sure you’re heading in the right direction!

Mike and I discuss how Helium10 has been instrumental in our success in the EU, so if you’d like to save 50% off your first month, or 10% off for lifetime access to Helium 10, visit www.theaustralianseller.com/helium10 – Of course it also comes with FREE access to Kevin King’s Freedom Ticket Course which is normally $997 – best course around I think!

Lastly, If you want a virtual multi-currency back account to save a bunch on currency conversion and withdrawal fees, as well as get your own debit card you can use at any ATM in the world for cash withdrawals, head over to Payoneer and sign-up – http://pwb.xts.mybluehost.me/staging/9188/payoneer

TAS 104 – From $0 to $79k p/m on Amazon. Linn’s story of product research, Shopify and Instagram tactics to drive product launches and reviews.

By Chris on January 27, 2021

Welcome back to the first show for 2021!

Today’s guest is Linn, one of my coaching students who I’ve had the privilege to work with over the last year or so.

I reckon Linn has all the qualities you need to be successful selling on Amazon; tenacity, persistence, an ability to overcome obstacles and an attention to detail, especially when it comes to customer experience and branding.

She’s now sitting at around $70k per month in revenue, enjoying excellent margins and is expanding her product range to around 12 SKU’s in the coming months.

She has an amazing knack of finding niches and great products to sell with low competition, medium demand and great profitability.

The Instagram marketing she uses to build a following, launch products and get reviews alone is pure gold and worth tuning in for…

I know you’ll love this chat with Linn!

TAS 103 – Julia Christie CEO Nail Snail, Australian inventor, mum & entrepreneur.

By Chris on December 12, 2020

In today’s episode please make welcome the effervescent Julia Christie. Julia is the proud mum of 3 little-un’s and the inventor of an amazing product called the Nail Snail.

As you know, inventing products is a passion of mine. Just coming up with an idea is hard enough, but seeing it all the way through to commercial success is a battle!

For Julia, it was an idea which came to her after injuring her baby. She woke up in the middle of the night with a brainwave and after a lot of luck, serendipity and tenaciousness, has created a global business with a team of 4 amazing women.

Today, we talk all things prototyping, networking, Crowdfunding, local Australian and global retail distribution, ecommerce, Amazon Live, and why a Chinese Patent is probably the best kind of IP you can have.

It’s such a great story, I hope you enjoy!

TAS 102 : Global Sources Virtual Summit – Sourcing, Freighting & Amazon Challenges with Meghla Bhardwaj and Steven Selikoff.

By Chris on November 5, 2020

In this episode we welcome back to the show Meghla Bhardwaj from India Sourcing Trip and Steven Selikoff from Product Sourcing academy .

On the 10-12th November 2020 Global Sources Summit is running the Global Sources Virtual Summit which is an event very close to my heart, as it was the first speaking gig I ever had talking about Selling on Amazon in 2015.

Meghla’s coordinating the event, Steven is running a workshop and I’m on an ‘ask me anything’ panel. I wanted to give the event a plug, because the quality of the speakers and the topics is world-class and will propel you into success in 2021 like it has for me every time I’ve attended.

We chat about the challenges of sourcing, freighting and selling products on Amazon this year, as well as effigy burning before chatting through the event itself.

The tickets are only $45 USD each – Steven’s 6 hour workshop is $145 USD, but if you use a special promocode Meghla’s kindly offered you as a loyal listener to the show you’ll receive a 10% discount.

Please use TAS10 and head over to www.globalsources.com/summit to grab yours now before the 10th of November 2020. (if you’re listening the future, hope all’s going well for you and sorry you missed out!)
